Elf Antics Day 25 - Elves Daisy & Holly Christmas Day

Merry Christmas to everyone that celebrates. It is a warm 77 here in N TX.

Day 25 - My Elves, Daisy & Holly (right to left) under the Christmas Tree on Christmas Day 2021.

Daughter came over for Christmas Eve dinner and brought the apple streudel she made.Was first time for her making this and the prep of paring & chopping the apples was the hardest part. We had some after Christmas Eve dinner and it was very tasty.

Hubby will prepare Christmas dinner of roast beef with asparagus wrapped in bacon. The 27th is daughter's birthday and I'm making a chocolate cake with coffee flavoring and Stuffed Jumbo Shells (the Jumbo were hard to find in the grocery stores) stuffed with ricotta & spinach.

Elf Antics Day 24 - Elves Daisy & Holly Countdown on Christmas Eve

Day 24 - My Elves, Daisy & Holly (right to left) are counting down and today is Christmas Eve.

We went to Home Depot (HD) today and paid for cabinets (KraftMaid Serenity) & countertop (WilsonArt Morning Ice) to get the promotions/discounts and order placed. We will pay for labor in New Year. Told HD person that Santa Claus is bringing me my kitchen. LOL or should say Ho Ho Ho.

I created a Christmas book for my Great Niece in FL. I made a video of reading it and texted the video to my Niece. I'll mail the book after Christmas and will post what it looks like on my blog soon.

We are having traditional Christmas Eve dinner of Pierogies (potato & cheese dumplings, boiled, sauteed, with onions & sour cream). Elf Antics Day 23 - Elves Daisy & Holly and Child Yoda Stocking

Day 23 - My Elves, Daisy & Holly (right to left) are showing off my Child Yoda stocking. I have a Snoopy stocking also.

Daisy Elf got her snowman sticker fixed so not wonky today. Hubby said he had some eggnog last night. I may try some tonight.

We rcvd our power point presentation for kitchen & contract with cabinet & countertop cost $37K and with promotion & discount cost is $35K valid till 12/27 so we will pay so we can get savings. Cost for electric, gas & plumbing is not included. Approx delivery of cabinets & countertop is Mar 2022. Will share photos later & when done also.

Elf Antics Day 22 - Elves Daisy & Holly Starbucks Color Change Candy Cane Cup

Day 22 - My Elves, Daisy & Holly (right to left) are showing off the new Starbucks cup. I had seen the cup at Starbucks that I frequent and did not buy, next day they were sold out but I found this one at the Starbucks in the Tom Thumb grocery store and price was less/was on sale. The cup changes color, changes to green, when hot liquid is poured inside. 

Looks like Daisy Elf's snowman sticker decor has been into the eggnog since it is a bit wonky.

I figured out a way to post to the Elf Antics linky using the email link Diana sends out. Guess my days as a computer software programmer knowledge came in handy. However I cannot get to post to leave a comment on Diana's blog. I am going to see if I can comment on other participants knowing that I still have problems with Instagram & such.

Elf Antics Day 17 - Elves Daisy & Holly Christmas Tree

Day 17 - My Elves, Daisy & Holly (right to left) are posing in the Christmas tree. The tree is artificial and prelit with clear & multi-color bulbs. The tree is decorated with unbreakable ornaments on bottom and most with jungle bells so we can know when the dogs are too close to the tree. The tree is decorated with Snoopy & Woodstock ornaments and many other ornaments.

Elf Antics Day 15 - Elves Daisy & Holly looking at kitchen remodel deisgns

Day 15 - My Elves, Daisy & Holly (right to left) are looking at kitchen remodel designs. 

Hubby & I have had several companies show us remodel designs and cost and they wanted so much more money than was in our budget and was not willing to let us do some of the work ourselves to save money. 

Well, Mark drew plans using a software program he has and we went to talk to Home Depot. Home Depot listened to what we wanted and will work with us to save cost. We have wanted this remodel for quite some time. Currently we have the original laminate countertop & wood cabinets that hubby repainted the brown with white paint. All appliances are black. We are keeping the original dishwasher until later when we will order a new but most are so far out there available wise. We are changing the sink to a black workstation sink and black touchless faucet (which is also called a farm sink and we have ordered & received both items). We are changing the electric cooktop to a gas cooktop (we have gas to the house & will have a gas line installed thru attic, gas cooktop also uses a 115 electrical outlet whereas an electric cooktop uses a 220 outlet, ordered & received). We are moving the double oven to opposite wall so we gain more counterspace near cooktop. The microwave will go in a cabinet above where the double oven was. The refrigerator will move slightly to left and where the refrig was there will be a shorter peninsula cabinet area to put the Keurig coffee maker on. We have chosen KraftMaid (US made) cabinets in a light green color and will go all the way to ceiling whereas now the area above the cabinets is wasted space. We first chose a laminate countertop but did not want a black seam showing show so we chose Corian countertop which is a solid surface and no seam in a light color (we have templates for new: sink & cooktop and will have the part that is cut edges shaped and use as trivet but not for hot dishes since you cannot set hot dishes on Corian). Mark will do the install of: backsplash, wainscotting, wallpaper & floor.

We are having a cabinet garbage/recycle bin added to right of sink. We are having an appliance lift & workstation added to right of cooktop where my Kitchen Aid mixer will go. We are having an EZ Reach cabinet added to left of where double oven will be moved to and it will have a Lazy Susan below.

Home Depot drew up plans and person came out twice first to take initial measurements and just this week to do site inspection to make sure all measurements were correct per plans. Next week we will pay & order cabinets and in 2022 we will have a new kitchen.

Elf Antics Day 13 - Elves Daisy & Holly Snoopy as The Red Baron on Plane

Day 13 - My Elves, Daisy & Holly (right to left) are enjoying going outside in evng when Christmas lights are turned on posing on one of our outdoor yard Christmas decor, Snoopy the Red Baron inflatable plane. 

That completes the Snoopy & Woodstock yard decor.

Hubby does the hard work of setting up the yard decor after he gets the icicle lights on the roof. I help by bringing the items from Tuff Shed (had Home Depot build this in our backyard to store our holiday items along with other stuff, best thing we did since we use to pay to store at a storage place) in backyard to front yard.

Elf Antics Day 12 - Elves Holly & Daisy on Wood Christmas Snoopy & Woodstock Doghouse

Yesterday evening 12/11 hubby & I enjoyed Heritage Farmstead, a farm area in our area that has been here for years and first time for us to see, holiday lights display there.

Day 12 - My Elves, Daisy & Holly (right to left) are enjoying going outside in evng when Christmas lights are turned on posing in front of one of our outdoor yard Christmas decor, Snoopy & Woodstock on doghouse (wood piece that is the oldest, first Snoopy & Woodstock Christmas yard decor bought, I've touched up the paint over the years and it has brightened our yard for quite some time). Hubby put a spotlight to shine on it along with a hologram snowflake light.

Story to go with this wood piece is that the evng after setting the yard up I noticed I had a splinter in my finger on right hand. Had hubby remove the splinter with tweezers; while yes, I screamed & cried. The splinter was under the skin so it took quite awhile to grab onto and get out.

Stay tune since there is one more piece of Snoopy & Woodstock Christmas yard decor.
