Year of the Snake Scrapbook Layout

Created this scrapbook layout using Year of the Snake artwork my daughter created using the new graphics tablet we gave her for her 21st birthday. Before the new graphics tablet she was using a 4" x 6" that we had given her for Christmas 2009 before she graduated from high school in 2010. The new graphics tablet is 8 1/2" x 11".

I like the way she made the snake be the zero '0' for '2013' and the colors she used.

Used DCWV Once Upon A Time scrapbook paper 12" x 12" as base. Printed the artwork on Kodak Ultra photo paper. Placed an action wobble on back of photo paper.  See motion photo below. Used Kraft everyday paper pack strip and ran it thru a Fiskars Paper Crimper to give it a textured snake look. Used Spellbinder for banner/sentiment tag. Stamped "Happy New Year" on banner and used a calligraphy marker to write '2013' on banner. Added 2 gold gems to attach banner to the crimped Kraft cardstock strip.

Rattlesnake Wobble 2013 Notebook

Fantabulous Cricut has a challenge to create an organization project. Last yr I created a notebook with a Dragon on it since 2012 was Year of the Dragon which you can click here for details. Well, 2013 is Year of the Snake so figured why not use an action wobble on my snake and make it a Rattlesnake on my notebook. See the photo below of the Rattlesnake with Action Wobble movement. I'll use this notebook to record notes of challenge creations by blog friends that I want to refer back to.

Kraft cardstock is the base & Old West scrapbook paper for layer. Used Animal Kingdom for Snake. Used Old West Rope option for '2013' which complements the Western theme. Used Tim Holtz Paper Distresser & Distress Ink walnut stain. Made another of the Wild West Pocket Tag which you can click here for details. Added ribbon.
