Made this card with lots of texture (even added a twig that hubby cut pieces up for me). Giving this to postal carrier.

cardstock/paper: white, Fall maroon

CTMH: cardstock/paper - Kraft   ink - Mocha

Lawn Fawn: die - Stitched Leaves

   stamp/die - Turkey Day

marker: Copic

other: twig cut

ribbon: Fall leaves

Tim Holtz: cardstock/paper - core'dinations orange

   tool - sander

Thurs Tip 8/20/20 - Texture

Had a relative from FL visiting with us and almost forgot to post.

Welcome to a Tip on Thursday. I'm Melissa, nickname "Sunshine HoneyBee", an independent Close To My Heart CTMH Consultant, and I want to share some tips I have learned in a weekly tutorial named Tip on Thursday.

For this Tip on Thursday I want to share with you how to add texture to your creation.

Supplies & Tools you will need are:

1. cardstock - card base measuring 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", 
    one piece measuring 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", 
    scrap piece measuring 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
2. ink - I chose VersaFine Onyx Black which stamps well on
    burlap

3. stamp - I chose Mother's Day Door CC42013 (retired)

4. piercing tool/foam
5. brad
6. burlap or fabric - I chose to use burlap since most outdoor welcome mats look like that
7. glue dots, adhesive - something to attach burlap or fabric and cardstock
8. scissors

Steps
1. Prepare card base
2. Stamp door onto front of card base, stamp sentiment if you choose to do so

3. Stamp doormat part of door stamp onto burlap and have a scrap piece of cardstock behind the burlap
4. Cut mat out
5. Pierce hole where door knob is on stamped door image

 





 














6. Add brad to front where pierced hole for door knob is on stamped image

7. Attach piece of cardstock to inside back of card to cover up the brad


8. Attach burlap or fabric door mat where stamped doormat image is on front of card

LF Let's Play Dog Days of Summer Tag

Made this tag that reminds me of my dog, Daisy, on the park slide during the Summer.

Recycled a paint card tag for Tag Base.

Used Lawn Fawn stamp/die set for first time. Stamped Dog on yellow felt. Recycled cardboard for Dog backing for sturdiness. Stamped the Slide multiple times and paper pieced for dimension. Stamped sentiment & fussy cut.

Party Birthday Card

Yeah! I accomplished a couple things with this birthday card. 

First, I finished all 7 days of Catch the Bug BugABoo challenges this week and this challenge was to use texture with optional freebie digi, Birthday Doodle Block. The digi is somewhat like illustrations my daughter does which I found cool & artsy. My texture is the candle, embossing & ribbon.

Second, I used all BugABoo digis for all 7 cards. 

Third, this is a birthday card for my hubby whose birthday is Feb 2 Groundhog's Day so I have his card made early.

Fourth, I used scraps.

Colored the BugABoo digi, Birthday Doodle Block, using my computer program. Changed all the black to blue. Used pops of color such as red for the cherry & yellow for candle flame & stars.

Valentine Card 2013 #1

Created this Clean & Simple (CAS) Valentine card using Krafty Christmas cardstock for base since I thought the red design had a pretty Valentine swirl look to it. Used Tim Holtz Valentine Background embossing folder on the pink cardstock layer. For sentiment mat I used pink foam that has adhesive backing with Stampin' Up Embosslits Scalloped Heart of Hearts that gives it a raised heart look that looks nice in person but cannot be seen as much in photo. Used Spellbinder Nest Classic Hearts die for sentiment tag that is white cardstock. Stamped sentiment on sentiment tag.
