TX BlueBonnets nothing but blue skies Decor

Happy Memorial Day!

After the storm we had yesterday here in Central TX the sentiment of this creation is what I'm feeling & hoping for:
nothing but blue skies

We celebrated the holiday yesterday w/ bbq of St Louis Ribs. Hubby grilled the ribs. I made a pasta salad using from our garden: tomatoes (we have 3 types growing: Cherry, Grape & Roma Juliet), red onion (we also have TX sweet onions growing) and Basil (we have several herbs growing).

I like BlueBonnets which are the TX State Flower. They bloom in Spring and do not last long. Couple yrs ago hubby & I bought some BlueBonnet plants and planted them in our backyard under a Mini Magnolia Tree. Each yr they come back reseeding on their own as well as I burst the seeds from the pods when they go dormant (brown) and plant more each yr. I still have some that are blooming in a spot that I did not plant and either birds or wind dispersed the seeds there near a wood pile we have near the garage.

Used Tim Holtz Wildflowers die for first time. Paper pieced the Wildflower using core'dinations blue & green cardstock.
Used many TH Distress Inks on the wildflowers (see list below). Used US embossing folder for first time. Used Wink of Stella pens: clear on the Wildflowers & gold on the embossed state of TX. Heat embossed the sentiment. Added ribbons.

I'm going to use this as a decoration.

We bought this type of grill because it can be used with charcoal or gas. We like the taste of using charcoal along with cedar chips.

sending you sunshine honeybee Postcard

Created this Postcard using a US stencil I had seen used on a couple other blogs & it was indicated that it could be found at Hobby Lobby so off I went to find it. After looking I found the letters & number stencil area & the decorative stencil area but did not find the US Map stencil. I asked a HL employee where were the stencils. She showed me the same 2 areas I had already looked in. Went over to rubber stamp area and there I found the US Map stencil. See below in my supply list for the details on the US stencil in case you want to know who the manufacturer is.

For front I used the US Map stencil with Tim Holtz Distress Ink faded jeans. Stamped a Hero Arts sentiment and added a HA Bee next to sentiment.

For back I used a Penny Black postcard stamp.

I used a Momenta die that is an Airmail postage stamp that is appropriate for this.
