 Long time fan of Captain Jack Sparrow in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. My daughter drew this sketch, her first of Captain Jack Sparrow, what seems like a life time ago (16 yrs ago). I made the map, distressed it, ink smooshed on map, sprayed with ink, sprayed water on it and dried it with heat gun. The scrapbook layout is Clean & Simple with background paper.

Worked this weekend on this scrapbook page layout of my dog Holly's 4th Birthday 11/12/2020.

Used Newton's Nook Pawprint Shaker Die but not as a shaker. Maybe next time.

Used Cricut for the Notebook paper image (used for journaling). Looked at couple Cricut borders for the curved look but did not like and chose to hand cut the pennant paper.

Used calligraphy for Title (Holly's 4th Birthday 11/12/2020) & journaling (We went to Arbor Hills Nature Preserve Plano, TX).

Added some embellishments: gems (4 Butterflies to complement Nature Preserve theme & 4 brown gems on notebook paper).

Summer Scrapbook Layout - Newtons Nook SummerMoments RetroSunPalms - Tim Holtz DistressInks

Definitely got inky on this scrapbook layout. My Newton's Nook order arrived and I used Summer Moments stamp & die along with Retro Sun & Palms Stencil Set. Used Copic markers for coloring. Can you see where I used a fine point black marker to scribble write on the book pages to make it look more like actual book pages? Used Tim Holtz Distress Inks with stencils. On sentiment tag I punched out 2 sea shells on either side of sand heat embossed sentiment "Sea you at the beach." Will add a 4" x 4" photo.

I like to collect sea shells & like to read so this set is perfect. Also has me practicing my coloring using Copic markers. Currently I'm enjoying reading Camino Winds by John Grisham.

Scrapbook Layout Daisy & Holly dressed for Halloween

Be aware of a problem I discovered with new blogger. I wanted to remove a link but then decided to use undo (the 3rd symbol, the arrow pointing to the left) and was surprised after clicking on undo that the entire post contents was deleted. Has anyone else had this happen?

Catching up on my scrapbooking. This scrapbook layout is the The Black Pearl, Captain Jack Sparrow's Ship, pumpkin (styrofoam pumpkin) my hubby carved in 2018. Hubby uses a dremmel tool and is now doing what is called shaving (have to be careful because the pumpkin is not thick, which means you do not cut open pattern parts but instead just shave off some of the outer. Have chosen carved pattern, not a Pirate theme, for this year and will post this year's when he finishes.

10/1 Tip Thurs - Scrapbook On A Small Scale - Scrapbook Layout 2019 Capt Jack Sparrow carved pumpkin

Welcome to a Tip on Thursday. I'm Melissa, nickname "Sunshine HoneyBee", an independent Close To My Heart CTMH Consultant, and I want to share some tips I have learned in a weekly tutorial named Tip on Thursday.

For this Tip on Thursday I want to share with you how to scrapbook on a small scale.

 You can scrapbook 12" x 12" layouts but lately I've liked creating 6" x 6" layouts. The one I'm showing you is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and I'll add a 6" x 6" white cardstock to back and that can be used for journaling.


Supplies & Tools you will need are:

1. Cardstock in color choices you want. I used: black, yellow, orange.

 2. Photo or photos of your choice. I used a photo printed on white cardstock of a Captain Jack Sparrow pumpkin my hubby carved laast year, 2019.

3. Pattern papers of your choice. I used scraps of Pirate skull & crossbones and Pirate Words.

Directions:

1. Cut cardstock: white 6" x 6", black 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", yellow

  5 1/4" x 5 1/4" and orange 5" x 5". 

2. Print photo on white cardstock and cut: 2  3/8" x 2  3/8"

3. Add cut scraps of pattern paper. Pirate skull & crossbones is cut 3" x 3". Pirate Words is 3  1/2" x 1  1/4".

Halloween BeetleJuice Scrapbook Layout

Some of you know my hubby has a talent for pumpkin carving. He started out carving real pumpkins and then we switched to styrofoam pumpkins (the kind you can buy in the craft stores). A battery operated light is used inside the pumpkin.  When he started carving the styrofoam pumpkins he would cut the design all the way thru the pumpkin but then he got a Dremmel tool that allows shaving and leaving some of the pumpkin outer layer for a more dimensional look. I had not made a scrapbook layout of this pumpkin from 2015 until now. BeetleJuice is a fav movie of my family.
