Our Maytag refrig/freezer of 10 yrs freezer keeps icing up on the vents at back of freezer inside. We had ordered a new one awhile ago and cancelled because the refrig/freezer was ok after we used hair blow dryers to rid of the ice. Well, it kept happening more often so we looked at new ones again. Found Home Depot Black Friday sale that started now before Black Friday. We ordered a new Frigidaire side-by-side black stainless steel. Former Maytag is style with freezer on bottom. Well, today when they came to deliver the new after inspecting it we saw a huge dent on right side (refrig side). Delivery guy offered us $50 to take it, we said no, he then said the most he could offer was $100 and we declined and they have to order us a new one. Did not think it was fair for them to offer $50 or $100 for a $1000 appliance and the dent was on side that would be seen (other side is near a cupboard wall). So, now we wait for next delivery. Thank goodness the refrig part still works & we have a small refrig/freezer in garage and a non-frost-free freezer in utility room. Bummed that we have to wait and thinking Home Depot owes us something for the inconvenience. Especially with Thanksgiving coming up we did order before holidays. Here's hoping we get next delivery in tip top shape soon.
