Oahu Hawaii Wedding Scrapbook Layout Gift

Hubby told his youngest brother that I would make a scrapbook of his daughter's wedding for a Christmas present for her but what he told me first was that I would make a scrapbook layout. So, I thought I was making one scrapbook layout page but he meant a scrapbook as in a book & several layouts as in plural and not only one layout. I had made some scrapbook layouts for me but figured I would make these slightly different but use the same background paper, Quick Quotes Summer Samba. You can see the previous similar scrapbook layout here.

Used Quick Quotes Summer Samba 12" x 12" scrapbook paper for Base. Used the Paper Company Citrus green cardstock for photo mat & sentiment mat. Printed 5" x 7" photo on Kodak Ultra paper. Used Fiskars corner rounder on photo & mat cardstock. Used Spellbinders, green cardstock & vellum paper for journal tag. Used calligraphy marker on journal tag. Added flowers & pearls.

Treasure Map Birthday Card

Created this Treasure Map Birthday Card using a stamp I had selected from a win at Victorine Stamps and using for first time, a muse studio sentiment stamp, Quick Quotes chalk, Kraft cardstock, homemade embellishment (homemade twine), Bakers twine, O'ahu map & Tim Holtz Paper Distresser.

Chose O'ahu map because when we were in O'ahu March this yr for a beach wedding we took a bus tour of the island and got to see the area where the Mermaid scene of Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed.

Stamped the Treasure Map on Kraft cardstock using sketch (MFP Sketch with A Twist, Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Colored the Treasure Map and areas of Kraft cardstock with Quick Quotes powder puff chalk. Stamped sentiment "Happy Birthday" from a muse studio. Homemade some twine using string from Levi's Jeans and Quick Quotes powder puff chalk. Tied bow with Baker's twine. Printed O'ahu map from Internet. Distress the edges of the Treasure Map & O'ahu map with Tim Holtz Paper Distresser. Used pop dots on the homemade twine & Bakers twine to hold it all in place.

After Saying "I Do" Wedding Scrapbook Layout

Created this Clean & Simple (CAS), whimsy/fun wedding scrapbook layout with photo from the bridal party after the couple said "I Do" at hubby's niece's wedding we attended in O'ahu Hawaii in Mar 2012.

Used new Spellbinders dies for flourishes that I bought at JoAnns 50% off and had military id (hubby was in Air Force during Vietnam War) for addl 20% off.

Wanted to challenge myself to use the wedding phrase "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." My old is the Fiskars corner rounder. My new are the Spellbinders flourish dies. My something borrowed is photographing the action photo that the professional photographer had them perform and I caught the action of the 2 on the far right jumping with both feet off the ground. My something blue is the blue sky in the photo & light blue on the water of the beach scrapbook paper.

Spring Wedding The Rings & Kiss Scrapbook Layout

Created this scrapbook layout using photos from a Spring Wedding hubby & I attended of his niece in O'ahu Hawaii in March 2012.

Used Blog Quick Quotes Summer Samba cardstock for an Hawaiian feel. Used 4" x 6" photos without matting so as to not cover up less of the pretty cardstock. Used vellum citrus yellow (one of the wedding colors) for doily die cuts with a
Cheery Lynn Designs Canadian Kaleidoscope die cut. This doily die cut has pretty hearts on the edge. Fussy cut some flowers from another piece of this same cardstock and attached to give a 3D look. Added some citrus green (the other wedding color) gems to center of the fussy cut flowers.

All About Me Summer Samba Oahu Hawaii Scrapbook Layout

Created this scrapbook layout with photos of me and things that relate to me. Used photos from O'ahu Hawaii trip Mar 22-26, 2012. Used Quick Quotes Summer Samba paper. Had won some of the Summer Samba paper and liked it so much I ordered more.

Used 3 different Summer Samba papers. Fussy cut the flowers and popped them up with circle foam adhesive. My hubby noticed I was cutting up the paper (he commented that he did not think I would cut into such pretty paper) & how thick it was (he touched the paper to feel the thickness of it). Added gems to center of the flowers.

Hiding in My Craftroom has National Scrapbook Day (NSD) challenges and NSD2 is All About Me.
 
1. I like photography. You can see my camera around my neck in one of the photos.

2. I like Del Sol t-shirts. They change from white & black to color when exposed to the Sun. My youngest sister gave me the one I'm wearing in the photos.

3. I like to travel. We were in O'ahu for 5 days for a wedding of one of my hubby's nieces. Enjoyed a Polynesian Adventures bus tour. Went to Pearl Harbor but did not get to ride the boat out to the Arizona Memorial because the Navy who operates the boats cancelled all boat trips right before we were to board because they said it was too windy.

4. I like Pineapple. When we visited the Dole Plantation in O'ahu we saw many varieties. We found out that none of the Pineapples grown in O'ahu are exported and are only for consumption on the island of O'ahu. Had Pineapple for breakfast every morn. Hawaii has the best tasting Pineapple.

5. I like most of all seasfood with few exceptions. Seen here is wonderful tasty Macadami Crusted Mahi Mahi that hubby & I shared at our 1st evng dinner in O'ahu at Duke's restaurant in our hotel.

6. I like Hibiscus. This one in O'ahu is unusual with its many, curly petals.

Aloha Card

Some of you may know that I just recently returned
from O'ahu Hawaii. Went there for a wedding. My
husband's youngest brother's next to oldest daughter
was married on a beach in O'ahu. She lives in Detroit,
is studying to be an emergency room doctor and is
interning with Kaiser hospital in Detroit. Kaiser sends
their interns to O'ahu to work at the Kaiser hospital
there for 1 mth. She worked all her hours the first 20
days she was there the mth of Mar so she could have
the remainder of Mar for the wedding.

Created this 3" x 3" Card using a couple photos from
O'ahu Hawaii.
