Decided
to think outside the box or should I say outside in the forest for this Back to School creation. The students and teachers are keeping their social distance. Did not mask them up. The students are sitting on mushrooms at the tree stump desk. Here schools are virtual & in person and some have both choices. My daughter has been out of school; she completed her Master's degree 3 yrs ago.

Like pizza with a lot more toppings except for no anchovies than on this card version. Made this to give to my hubby for our Anniversary in Nov. (yes, I made it way early, need to make sure I put it somewhere where I'll be able to find it then).
Got creative making this a slider card as well as making the plaid. Made the plaid using a Close To My Heart retired stamp Build-A-Plaid.

Have enjoyed seeing & photographing Hot Air Balloons for quite awhile. Plano, which is in N TX, holds an annual Hot Air Balloon Festival. The Festival is cancelled for this year due to Covid. Once we went to evening event that is called 'The Glow' where the Hot Air Balloons are tethered in place and lit up but do not take off. Made this card with 'The Glow' in mind (the beads inside for shaker style are to resemble the balloon glowing)
Used Lawn Fawn LF Hot Air Balloon dies both small & large to make the layers & shaker pieces. Colored with Copics which I recently bought (50% off at Michaels) and am practicing with them.
The card is photographed with a Hot Air Balloon craft item bought at one of the Festivals. When daughter was younger I used butterfly clips in her hair and when she grew up the clips became decoration on the basket.

Recycled a couple of things when making this Recipe Tag. The Smidge Spoon circle at top left, the recipe and the word SUGAR came from a 4lb bag of sugar. Distressed the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink. Learned a new tip/trick to adding dimension which is to use recycled cardboard on backs of items instead of foam adhesive since the cardboard is less costly. Added the gems since I thought they had a vintage look & sparkled like sugar.

Had fun creating this interactive card. Used Lawn Fawn LF slide die & LF stamp/die. Mailed it to my Great Niece in FL.
I'm fond of Turtles. When out of college in FL I helped rescue Sea Turtles. When my daughter was younger we found a Turtle in our yard, we carried it & released it near creek area of neighborhood park. When driving along one day hubby & I saw a Turtle crossing the street, we pulled over, rescued it and released it near the creek out of harm's way of the street. When hubby & I enjoyed a trip to Maui Hawaii we took a bus tour and the bus driver knew an area where there would be huge Turtles, sure enough where he stopped we got to see a huge Turtle on the beach.
Today, Michaels had a 50% off coupon and they do not do that all that often. Scored 3 (had coupon on my app & had forwarded a coupon to hubby's phone) packages of Copic markers (Grays, Earth & Sea/Sky) at 50% off; first store did not have Earth so hubby drove me to 2nd store. Tried out the Earth Copics on the Turtle.
