Did not know what 'kitsch' meant so I googled it:
- 1.art, objects, or design considered to be in poor taste because of excessive garishness or sentimentality, but sometimes appreciated in an ironic or knowing way.
"the lava lamp is an example of sixties kitsch"
- 1.considered to be in poor taste but appreciated in an ironic or knowing way.
"the front room is stuffed with kitsch knickknacks, little glass and gilt ornaments"
The definition left a bad taste (no pun intended) so I looked it up in my dictionary. Yes, I still have a dictionary and like the definition there better which is:
Artistic or literary material designed to appeacl to current popular tastes & interests.
Made this ornament twice. First I used gray cardstock for the base but thought my 2nd version with the green vine pattern looked better since it looked like it was hanging off a tree branch.
