Straw berry best wishes Happy Birthday Card

Created this Birthday Card with a Strawberry theme in mind.

Used Preserves Cricut cartridge for the Strawberry images.
Used white cardstock for Base of card, red cardstock for banner tags and layers of polka dotted cardstock & strawberry scrapbook paper. Distressed the edges of the Strawberry pieces with paper distresser. Inked the edges of the Strawberry with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. Bought the Tim Holtz Summer Distress Inks (mowed grass, picked raspberry & salted ocean) this wk. First time using them. I really like the colors. Used Tim Holtz mowed grass, picked raspberry & walnut stain on the Strawberry pieces.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Recipe Scrapbook Layout

Created this Pineapple Upside-Down
Cake Recipe Scrapbook Layout to be
part of the recipe book for my daughter.

Every year for my Hubby's birthday which
some of you know is on Groundhog's Day
I bake him his favorite, Pineapple Upside-
Down Cake. I usually make it with a Yellow
Cake Mix sometimes box & sometimes from
scratch but this year I'm going to make it from
a Duncan Hines Fudge Marble (chocolate &
yellow swirl) mix.

I have the box mix & the pineapple slices and
need to buy the cherries.

I used the Cricut Preserves Cricut cartridge for
the Pineapple Slice & Cherry.

Hand calligraphy of the recipe on clear vellum
paper.

"Cherry on Top" Card

Created what I'm calling the "Cherry on Top" card. Had about 5 do overs on this card. I thought I would try to sand the edges of the leaves & totally messed up the stems. I got glue on some of the pieces and it was noticeable even after using distress stain ink. I thought perhaps I would trim teh leaves with decorative edge scissors but made a mess of the leaf after a few snips. Forget what the other mistakes I made but finally came up with this.

'Preserving' my Garden Memories Scrapbook Layout

Made this scrapbook layout of my Cantaloupe garden that my hubby worked so hard to build in a raised garden bed using cedar wood. Hubby found out that treated lumber chemicals that it is treated with is not good for some plants. Titled the scrapbook layout 'Preserving' my Garden Memories because I used the Preserves Cricut cartridge for the cantaloupe & 'melon' wording die cuts. Started working on the scrapbook layout 7/12/11 & finished it today 7/15/11.

Photos matted on yellow cardstock:
top right is a bee on the Cantaloupe yellow flo

center left is of the 2 Cantaloupe plants bought from Home Depot w
hen hubby first planted them 4/17/11
center right is the Cantaloupe plants as they look now 7/14/11

bottom is the 1st Cantaloupe to have grown

Currently we have 16+
Cantaloupes growing from the 2 plants we started with and first one that you see in the bottom photo should be ripe sometime in Aug.

Preserves Cricut cartridge 2 1/2": melon2 & layers, 'melon' word & label shift (qty 2 of these)
Designer's Calendar Cricut cartridge 2 1/2" sun: August script shift & August script shadow

Paper:
Base: 12" x 12" the Paper Studio Soft Swirls Green - from Hobby Lobby - chose this because it had a nice vine pattern to it and the cantaloupe plants as you can see are a vine growing plant
yellow cardstock: core'dinations VC Lemonade
light orange: Papaya
