Guest Designer for Raise the Bar and Ring in the New Yr Bday Card

I'm a Guest Designer, Guest Bar-Tender,
for Raise the Bar. Received the honor
when I made Top 5 in Ch#86 - It's
Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas
with my Nutcracker Gift Bag & Pizzelles
entry.

Challenge this week at Raise the Bar is
Ring In The New Year (Use Circles).
Challenge #88

Used a Circle shaped card base for circle
theme and that was easy when I discovered
that the Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge had
such a card
and no Gypsy welding was
necessary. Used blue for base to look like
the sky.

Embossed the Circle with Retro Circles
embossing folder keeping with the circle
theme. Used a Dabber on the embossed
image and broke the rule and dragged the
tip across the embossed image. Did not
like how much ink came out when I dabbed
the Dabber across the embossed image and
liked the result when I dragged the tip across
the embossed image. Has anyone else broke
this rule or discovered a way to prevent too
much ink from coming out?

Sized the balloons to be round and used
ribbons for ribbon ties. Stamped happy
birthday on the balloo
ns. Used white ink
on the balloons near bottom right edges &
on candle of happy birthday sentiment.

Happy Birthday Week! PTT#51-Happy Birthday Projects and Cards

Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge & Gypsy
balloons 2" x 2" (for circle shaped balloons)
Gifts Card/Tag circle shaped card that is already welded 9.98" x 5"
used Gypsy to hide the crease on the Card

Paper:
cardstock: red, green & yellow
core'dinations Baby Blue Smooth - chose this to be like the sky

adhesive: foam, ZOTS small dots
Hero Arts Days to Celebrate rubber stamp - happy birthday
Marvy white pen - on balloons
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
ribbon: red, green & yellow

Ranger Dabber - Sail Boat Blue
the instructions on the Dabbers indicate to not drag the tip
but I found that if I just pressed it over the embossed image
too much ink came out & liked the look of what I got when I
dragged the tip across the embossing so I broke the rules

  7. Congrats on the GD spot! I hadn't really noticed the shaped cards on Birthday Bash-going to have to try that out. Thanks for visiting my blog! Fabulous Finds is an older cricut cart that I got as a reward cart a while back, that is full of tags, hinges, little photo books, and stuff. When you photograph things for your blog, how do you do the lighting? My pics always come out really dark or the color is washed out.
