this card using Simon/Hero Arts stamp die set, Holiday Layered Tree. Had inspiration from Shari Carroll (was trying to find post with a link but not finding it). Used Tim Holtz sander on the cardstock before die cutting. Added some embellishments. and used stickles on star. With a couple Spellbinder dies I made the snowy bank for Christmas tree and cut a curve in the bottom left corner for some pattern paper to peek thru. Peek inside the card. When I first started stamping I bought wooden rubber stamps and the Deer is a fav of mine.

Click here for Tip Thursday 8/27 Watercolor Pencils. Made this card using Simon stamp set, Crafty Bunnies. Stamp set did not have dies so after stamping the main images (all but the small craft supplies stamps) I used my Cricut Explore Air to print & cut. Took 2 tries to get right size for images and right cut especially with the bunny whiskers (first try cut the whiskers right off). Glad I did not give up. made the die cutting machine in scene to look like my Sizzix BIGkick. Can you see the bunny on left licking the envelope?

Click here for Tip Thursday 8/27 Watercolor Pencils. I like Pumpkin Spice Latte PSL. Was happy when Starbucks announced PSL available Tues 8/25 which is earlier than last year of 8/28. Went inside Starbucks wearing my mask & ordered a PSL, tasted good but the drink temperature was warm and not hot. The barista guy was so busy trying to keep up with the drive thru drink orders that he did not make it hot. Well, yesterday I went to the Tom Thumb grocery store and they had the PSL for sale 4 to a packet for you to brew yourself. Ordered a Mango Dragonfruit drink and bought the PSL packets. Had a PSL yesterday evng using Keurig for hot water and frothed the cream (have a Keurig that has the frother that can make Latte or Cappucino). Was happy and I got points on my Starbucks app for the purchase of the PSL packets as well.
Made this card using a Simon stamp/die set, Fall Frenchies, I bought last yr and first time using. Used white gel pen to give the whipped cream a more realistic look. Embellished with flowers & gem.

tips I have learned in a weekly tutorial named Tip on Thursday.

For this Tip on Thursday I want to share with you the use of watercolor pencil colors.
Supplies & Tools you will need are:
1. watercolor cardstock 2. ink - I chose VersaFine Onyx Black
3. stamp - I chose A Koala-ty Day Z3735
4. watercolor pencil colors - I used Milan 24 pc 431 Water Soluble Pencil Colors. The colors I used are: a) Elephant Gray for Koala b) Earth Brown, Wood Brown & Sand Brown (in that order) for tree c) Turtle Green, Grass Green (in that order) for leaves
5. paint brush - watercolor pencil color set I used came with a paint brush 6. water
7. paper towel - to dab paint brush on & clean paint brush with
Steps
1. Stamp on watercolor cardstock
2. Color stamped image with pencil colors
3. Use paint brush with water on the pencil color image, cleaning the paint brush for each of the 3 main colors (grey, browns, greens)

Made this card using a Tim Holtz stamp/die that I have had for quite awhile and do not think I used until now. It has dies for creating dimension to the Poinsettias.

I like to read. Recently finished reading Mary Higgins Clark MHC book Kiss The Girls And Make Them Cry. My daughter gave the book to me for Mother's Day. Finished reading it this past Sat when we had a Spectrum internet and tv outage. This book is the last MHC wrote in 2019 before her death in Jan this yr 2020. The last couple chapters were the best. Next on my read list is 2 of John Grisham books, Camino Island & Camino Winds.
Made the bookmark using CTMH Joyful Sunflower. Also used a CTMH embossing folder Wood Slats for background. Colored the Sunflower with Copics (Y21, YG11 & E34). Used a CTMH Shimmer pen Lemonade on Sunflower. Recycled some cardboard to put on back of Sunflower for sturdiness and pop up for dimension (no foam tape was necessary). Added some ribbon.

Watermelon has always been a fav of mine in the Summer.
Made this card using Cricut cartridge Just Because Cards. Had been neglecting to use my Cricut and am going to try to use it more. Added some liquid glass to thewatermelon for more of a realistic look. Used a Cardz TV stamp, Fun in the Sun, that I have had for awhile but first time using. Added some watermelon pattern paper to the inside of card.

Made this birthday card with several elements. Used a MFT Die-Namics die (Piece of Cake) that was a freebie with order. Used colors in MFT Color Challenge: Whip Cream - white, Lemon Drop - Yellow, Persimmon - Red/Orange pattern cardstock (cake layers) and Milk Chocolate - brown (cake frosting). Made the card interactive by adding a pull strip (Lawn Fawn Push Here stamp - Pull Here) that when pulled the words EAT CAKE (CTMH Celebrate Today Cardmaking stamp sentiment) is revealed. Used a MFT sketch (see below). Was going for a masculine look, thus the distressed white cardstock.

Have a friend with a birthday on Halloween that I made this card for.
Used several My Favorite Things Die-Namics dies (Haunted House, Spooky Fence, Slimline Starter). Used my Sizzix BIGkick regular plates & extended plates. Used Cardz TV stamp, Spooky Sayings, for sentiment that I won in a challenge recently. Distressed the sentiment tag with Tim Holtz paper distresser & Distress Ink. Used CTMH Lemonade shimmer pen on the yellow windows for more of a glow look. Added a wobble to back of Skeleton to make him dance. Can you see the skeleton inside the door of Haunted House?

For this Tip on Thursday I want to share with you how to add texture to your creation.
Supplies & Tools you will need are:
1.
cardstock - card base measuring 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", one piece measuring 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", scrap piece measuring 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" 2. ink - I chose VersaFine Onyx Black which stamps well on burlap
3. stamp - I chose Mother's Day Door CC42013 (retired)
4. piercing tool/foam 5. brad 6. burlap or fabric - I chose to use burlap since most outdoor welcome mats look like that 7. glue dots, adhesive - something to attach burlap or fabric and cardstock 8. scissors
Steps 1. Prepare card base 2. Stamp door onto front of card base, stamp sentiment if you choose to do so
3. Stamp doormat part of door stamp onto burlap and have a scrap piece of cardstock behind the burlap 4. Cut mat out 5. Pierce hole where door knob is on stamped door image
6. Add brad to front where pierced hole for door knob is on stamped image
7. Attach piece of cardstock to inside back of card to cover up the brad
8. Attach burlap or fabric door mat where stamped doormat image is on front of card
