covered the colors with Denim Blue (base & book on pattern paper), Coral (framed layer), Caramel Brown (dog & sentiment speech bubble), Wine Red (dk red of paw prints) with neutrals (gray & white)

Just read your comment on the IPC blog. I agree. Color challenges can be more challenging than others. I'm impressed that you found papers that pull the colors off in such a cute way! Always a pleasure to see your creativity at Inky Paws!
