Owl Red & White Christmas Card using cotton balls for fur

Created this Owl Red & White Christmas card using cotton balls for the Owl's hat.

My daughter & I like Owls.

I embossed the white cardstock twice. First with the tree pattern (which you have to look at closely to see) and second with the dots pattern. Used the Tim Holtz embossing diffuser to leave area for the stamping of the Owl & sentiment.

Colored the Owl with Crayola pencil colors. Used cotton balls for hat fur trim. After stamping the Owl with black I realized that the candy cane would be black & white so I used red & white glitter on the candy cane. Difficult part was being careful with the glitter since the candy cane was small. Used liquid Pearls on the Owl's eyes.

Crayola: pencil colors
embossing: Cuttlebug - Swiss Dot, Winter Trees
glitter: red, white
liquid Pearls: White Opal
misc: cotton balls - fur look for Owl's hat
paper: cardstock - red, white
stamp: Fiskars What a Hoot - Owl & sentiment 'Tis the season
Stickles: Xmas Crystal
Tim Holtz: embossing diffuser

    1. Was not sure about how the candy cane would turn out after stamping with black ink and realizing that candy cane was black & white so that was when I used the red & white glitter. Going to try this stamping with red ink and see how that looks.
