Halloween Pumpkin Card No 2

Created this Halloween Pumpkin Card using
3 buttons as key items and decided to think
outside the box or should I say inside the
pumpkin as in behind the pumpkin image.
2 of the buttons are used as eyes for the
pumpkin. They are old buttons and had a
neat striping color to them for the eyes.

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge!

This week it's a color challenge! Halloween is almost here...so our challenge is to use the colors orange and black! You are allowed to use one other color, so if you want to add a white ghost or green Frankenstein, or even yellow leaves...it doesn't have to be a Halloween project - as long as you use the colors orange, black and only one other color!

Phlat Samantha Mermaid is a TX Ranger Fan

Some of you may know what a Flat Stanley is. For those
that do not a Flat Stanley is a flat paper doll that is
created in U. S. A. elementary schools by children and
sent to people to photograph it in their locale or with
them, create a journal of travels and send on to other
recipients and then the last person mails the pkg back
to the originator. My daughter created a Flat Stanley
when she was in 1st grade.

Well, this lovely wooden figure is named Phlat Samantha
(PS for short). She comes from Toronto Canada. I have
an Internet friend, Michael, tha
t lives in Toronto Canada.
I met Michael when I enjoyed a visit to Toronto Canada
Mar t
his yr 2011 when my hubby was in Toronto Canada
on business and hubby's company paid for my travel
expenses since hubby was there for 3 weeks and did
not come home on the weekends.

Phlat Samantha has traveled to different places in the
U.S. A. and before coming to me had been in the U.K. &
Scotland. PS has 3 more locations to arrive at before she
goes bac
k to Toronto Canada.

When Phlat Samantha arrived I knew exactly what I
wanted to do photograph wise since the Texas Rangers
were in the World Series. At this time my Gypsy was still
working and I designed a project with Everyday Paper
Doll Cricut cartridge to dress PS in TX Ran
ger colors &
gear.

Phlat Samantha visited Captain Jack Sparrow
at Best Buy store Tues 10/18 when the new
Pirates of Caribbean movie came out on DVD.

Reptile Snake Birthday Card

Created this Reptile Snake Birthday Card
using Animal Kingdom Snake image.

It is a requirement for Die Cuttin Divas
Ch#37 Scaly, Cold Blooded Reptiles
Challenge. Reptile Awareness Day is
Oct. 21.

This was my first time using vellum on
my Cricut and used settings: speed 2,
pressure 4 & blade 4 and it cut with no
problem. I thought the vellum gav
e the
Snake a scaly look.

Embossed both the brown & vellum pieces
of the snake with a mesh pattern embossing
folder. I thought the embossing gave the
image
more of a snake skin look.

Used some Distress Ink to give it even a more
rustic look.

Added metal snake charm which is a
requirement for Celebrate the Occasion
Male B'day Card (must use metal) challenge.

Black Pearl Halloween Pumpkin

By now most of you know I'm a Johnny Depp
as Captain Jack Sparrow fan and had to have
a Black Pearl pumpkin so hubby carved this in
2007. He used an artificial Styrofoam pumpkin,
what is called a craft pumpkin. The detail in the
masts was the most difficult part.
