Hawaii Road to Hana Scrapbook Layout

When in Maui Hawaii hubby, daughter & I took a day trip,
rented a car & drove the road to Hana.

First stop after leaving hotel was gas station.
At the gas station we paid for CD recording for tour that told about
the sites to see along the way to Hana. Also for deposit money
you get a cooler & ice.

We had bought soda & lunch meat and made sandwiches.

You return the cooler at the end of the day and you get
deposit money back.

The road twists & turns. Hubby did the driving. This way
I was able to photograph the road and what would be a "road trip"
scrapbook layout without a photo of the road especially as narrow
and winding this road was.

Saw Bee-utiful waterfalls &
had picnic lunch when we arrived in Hana.
It rained some along the way.
Was an enjoyable worthwhile day trip.

Tree & Halloween Carved Pumpkin Layout

Saw the challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 to use the Heritage Curly Tree (tree1) image or another Tree image if you did not have the Heritage Cricut cartridge.

Got out my Heritage Cricut cartridge.
First cut tore. There are many swirls to this tree. Second cut did not tear.

Then I had to decide what to do with the tree.

Have been in a scrapbook layout mode.

Well, my hubby carves a pumpkin each year. We use to carve real pumpkins but
they are messy, do not last long & cannot be carved too far in advance so we switched to artificial Styrofoa
m (had always been spelling this with a lower case 's' and recently found out that it is spelled with a capital 'S' since it is a trademark name word) pumpkins the kind that Hobby Lobby, JoAnns, Michaels, and other craft stores sell.

The layout here uses photos of the pumpkin carved in 2009 which is an artificial Styrofoam pumpkin. Using a tap light that runs on AA batteries I light the pumpkin and put in front window. Do not put them outside or someone would destroy or steal them.

Has anyone else carved pumpkins using artificial Styrofoam pumpkins?

Sweet Treats Crown Birthday Card

When I first saw the challenge MAG Challenge
by the Page Ch#41 Sweet Treats page 45
I was not sure what to do with any of the images.

The Birthday Sundaes challenge was a color challenge
of a cupcake photo" pink, white, colors, dots & stripes.

So, to do MAG Challenge by the Page I could not add a
Cricut cupcake image or any other Cricut image than what
was on page 45 of Sweet Treats.

Created this Happy Birthday pink crown "Bee-jeweled"
pink/white colors and dotted background Card "Bee-fitting" of a Princess.

St. Michaels Cathedral Scrapbook Layout

Created these two 12" x 12" scrapbook layouts of St. Michael's Cathedral
in downtown Toronto, Canada.

Visited Toronto, Canada Mar this yr. Hubby was there on business and his
company has a policy that if the spouse is away for more than 3 weeks and
does not come home on weekend they will pay to fly the spouse there for the
weekend.

It had snowed & rained weeks prior to me going while hubby was there but
when I arrived there was no snow or rain but as I left it began to rain and later
that week it snowed again. It knew that SUNSHINE was visiting.

Met an Internet friend that showed hubby & I downtown area. I suggested
St. Michael's and glad I did since it was open & noone was inside which was
perfect for photography.

Added the two Cricut images and made them like tags so I could add journal
info to them.

Robin Nest Scrapbook Layout

This Bee has been a bzzz Bee scrapbooking.

There's a challenge using Straight from the Nest Cricut cartridge and I'm taking you to a Robin Nest.

Created this Robin 12" x 12" scrapbook layout using Robin photos from 2 yrs ago, July 2009. I had the wonderful experience of seeing & photographing a Robin nest in a Mini Teddy Bear (yes the tree was named a Teddy Bear Magnolia Tree) Magnolia Tree in our backyard.

There were 3 bee-utiful blue eggs. I saw the babies after they hatched. I saw the babies with eyes unopened. I saw the babies eyes opened. I saw the babies being fed by Mother & Father Robin. I saw the babies growing up. Luck was with me when I was there for when they the first baby flew out of the nest & 2 days later the other 2 babies flew out.

I stood on a ladder for some of the photos but most were taken a distance away not disturbing the babies or Mother or Father. The Mother & Father were protective but not as mean as BlueJays. The Mini Magnolia Tree is next to our bedroom and so I was able to photograph thru the window without the Mother or Father knowing I was there watching them.

Travel Hawaii Scrapbook Layout

Created this Travel Hawaii 12" x 12" scrapbook layout.

While on vacation in Maui, Hawaii on the evening of Wed 3/19/08, my husband, my daughter & I were aboard a catamaran, Teralani 2, for dinner & whale watch excursion. We had to take off our shoes, give the shoes to a crewperson, roll up our pant legs & wade out since the catamarans do not come close to shore. Dinner was served below deck. Then we spent a couple relaxing hours out at sea watching & photographing whales.

I'm a Guest Designer for Decorate to Celebrate

I'm excited that I was asked to be a Guest Designer
for Decorate to Celebrate theme:
Wedding, Bridal Shower or Engagement Party.

First time for me being a Guest Designer so I was nervous
about my projects.

1st project I made last year when my family was
attending a wedding for my husband's youngest brother's
oldest daughter in CA.

I wrapped the wedding gifts (Martha Stewart bowls & glass
measuring cup we also contributed for the wedding videographer)
in wedding wrapping paper. Wrapped them stacked in tulle and
tied with 2 ribbons (wider white satin ribbon & white ribbon
with word 'Celebrate' in purple not as wide as other ribbon).

Made the wedding car
d using dk purple & white paper, Fiskars clear stamp,
black ink, purple ribbon, a corner punch & Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Closeup of wedding card

2nd project I made shortly after I was asked if I wanted

to be a Guest Designer. Crocheted the doily & added beads.
The bell in photo was a wedding gift that I received when I got married.
Made the napkin ring using

Sweethearts Cricut cartridge ring 2 1/2" using core'dinations Gem Citrine
cardstock & The Paper Company Solid Glitter Silver cardstock.
