It's all in the Eyes! Cheetah Bday Card

One of my fav Wild Animals are Cheetahs. Do you know the difference between a Cheetah's spots and a Leopard's spots? A Cheetah's spots are dark on the inside and light on the outside. A Leopard's spots are dark on the outside & light on the inside.

Made the base of the card using a Spellbinder die and placing the top cutting plate in a way that will not cut the top part off for front of card base & then moving the Spellbinder die to complete shape and positioning the cutting plate again in a way that forms the shaped card.

Embossed a layer same size as the base with Cuttlebug Animal Print embossing folder that resembles Cheetah spots.

Used Cheetah scrapbook paper which is not easy to find since Leopard is more commonly found.

Stamped on Kraft cardstock using Mark's Finest Papers Big Cats stamp.

Used Tim Holtz paper distresser & Distress ink for wonderful distress inking.  Pleased with the colors on the Kraft cardstock.

Added some gems & Cheetah ribbon. The ribbon is Autumn Harvest ribbon and with the wire in it I folded it and wrapped across the front of card.

Photographed this Cheetah at the Kansas City Zoo.

I spotted you friend Cheetah Card

Created this everyday card using a new digi, AkvCheetah, I selected from a win from BugABoo.

Colored the digi, entered text & framed it using my computer software programs.

Do you know the difference between Cheetah & Leopard spots? A Leopard has the lighter color (brown) on the inside of the spot and darker color (black) on the outside of the spot. A Cheetah is the reverse of a Leopard with darker color (black) on the inside of the spot and lighter color (brown) on the outside of the spot.

It's all in the eyes Cheetah Scrapbook Layout

Created this scrapbook layout with a couple of my favorite things: first and foremost my daughter's wonderful artwork that she sketched for me for my birthday present this yr (and even though she is a junior in college, yes she calls me 'Mommy' which I like), one of my favorite wild animals are Cheetahs & my favorite stamps which are Speedy TV Mark's Finest Papers 'Big Cats.' When my daughter asked what I would like for her to sketch for my birthday present I asked for a Cheetah sketch. Was wanting a Mother Cheetah & a Cub but did not make the request for that and she read my mind.

Cheetah stamped image iron-on t-shirt

Created this Cheetah t-shirt iron-on using a Mark's Finest Paper's stamped image. First time for me using a stamped image to create an iron-on transfer for a t-shirt. Have used photos for iron-on transfers. Used Cheetah image & sentiment from Big Cats stamp set. Stamped image & sentiment onto white cardstock. Scanned. Enlarged to be 8" x 10". Flipped image since it is to be an iron-on. Printed on iron-on paper. Ironed on yellow t-shirt. After cooling time peeled paper off & image is on t-shirt.

It's all in the Eyes! Cheetah Card

I'm excited to announce that I was asked by Mark's Finest Papers (MFP) Speedy TV to be a part of their site and responsible for a new challenge, Simple Salutations, to be held weekly on Wednesdays starting on their site Jul 4. Please check out their site by clicking on Speedy TV. Membership is free. Also, if you join they are having a membership contest so please let them know I sent you. They have several challenges ongoing in which they give stamp sets away. If you use one of their stamps then your entry is counted twice.

Created this Clean & Simple (CAS) card using MFP clear stamp set, Big Cats. Some of you may know one of my favorite wild animals are Cheetahs. Leopard items are very common and so it is rare that I find Cheetah anything but when I saw the ribbon in an after Thanksgiving sale I was very happy. I usedthe Cheetah ribbon on this card as my Splash of Color. A Leopard has dark color on the outside of their spots & light color on the inside. A Cheetah has the opposite of a Leopard. A Cheetah has dark color on the inside of their spots & light color on the outside.

Teddy, my mixed breed Hound dog, that thinks he is part Cougar posed with the card.

The card with the wonderful Cheetah ribbon:

Cheetah Card using something not intended for crafting

Created this Cheetah Card using
something not intended for crafting.

I used butcher meat wrapping paper.
When I shop the Sprouts grocery
store where I buy fruit, vegs & meats
they wrap the meat in the brown butcher
wrapping paper which is like freezer
paper that has a shiny side & a non-shiny
side. They place the meat which in my
case was Sweet Italian Sausage (am I
making you hungry?) in a plastic bag before
wrapping in the brown butcher wrapping
paper so when I went home I unwrapped
and thought what if this paper would look
cool if I embossed on the shiny side of it.

Stamped the sentiment on the ribbon. On
inside I'm going to write a note to my Hubby
and put the card in his backpack that he
takes to work.

Cheetahs are a favorite wild animal of mine.

Bee-utiful furs are worn by
Bee-utiful animals
not by
Bee-utiful people!

Photographed this bee-utiful Cheetah
at the Kansas City Zoo using my 300mm
Canon lens & Canon T1i Canon camera.
