I'm in a Patriotic mood.
Had a jury summons for today. My jury summons when I received it in the mail said I was for stand-by. When I checked yesterday which you can after 5pm day before jury duty I was indicated 'To Appear.' Cked this morn just to be sure and was still indicated 'To Appear.' Left early this morn because it can take 30 mins to get there with no traffic and it indicated that you had to be there by 8:45am. I've had jury summons before and gone and never been selected. Came close to being selected last time but when group I was selected in chose to wait it out and not take a lunch break after the wait we found out that they had settled out of court and we could go home. Today 25 people were chosen. Rest of us (counted 28) were told to stay because they possibly had another group to choose. Went to bathroom and when I came back to Central Jury Room the people were coming out and they were told that we were not needed so we could leave.
When I arrived home I had 3 Patriotic cards I had partially finished yesterday and I finished all of them and this is the first.
Created this card of Old Glory using Tim Holtz Old Glory die cut, Tim Holtz Distress Ink and several layers of cardstock & paper.
Used white cardstock as the base of the card. Cut the Old Glory out of americana Kraft red & blue cardstock and cut the portion to be blue and attached over the red flag. Cut the pole out of brown Kraft cardstock it. Distressed the edges of the flag & pole with Tim Holtx Distress Ink vintage photo. Distressed the cardstock & paper by hand tearing. Used Tim Holtz Distress Ink vintage photo on the edges of cardstock & paper after hand tearing. Stamped the sentiment onto Kraft cardstock. Used Tim Holtz idea-ology long fasteners/brads to attach to the card front below the flag.
