Mail Girl Digi Image Card

I do a lot of Clean & Simple (CAS) creations but
this time I stepped way out of my comfort zone
to create this card.

I won the Mail Girl digi image as one of
3 digi images in the Die Cuttin Divas B'day
Celebration Blog Hop early part of this mth
from Jennipher Lowery.

I won some of the chalk I used for coloring
from Blog Quick Quotes. I used mostly cotton
swabs to apply the chalk. Not sure what anyone
else uses & would like to know. For the smallest
areas like the face I used a tooth pick to apply
the color and then used the cotton swab to smooth
the color out.
See the pink flesh color. I know I have
a lot to learn about coloring but am pleased with this.

Entering this into the following challenges:

Anything Goes with Chalk

4. Cooking with Cricut Ch#68 Photo Inspiration ends 1/17

I thought my Mail Girl fit with the Winter scene of
someone dropping off mail to a friend during the
Winter all dressed up in her blue hat & coat with
faux fur.

This is a good time to share a quote I like by
T.E.P. Inc. (an organization for protection of wild
animals) in which I changed the spelling a little &
you will know why:
"Bee-utiful Furs Are Worn By Bee-utiful Animals,
Not Bee-utiful People"

#68 Photo Inspiration

They chose a photo for the team to draw inspiration from. Here is what Jill and Felicia said to the team: “So for the challenge this is our photo inspiration, use the colors or a tree, whatever this photo inspires you to make!”
1-11 Photo Inspiration
This photo is entitled "Relax" and was taken in Charlotte, North Carolina’s Freedom Park by photographer Chris Summerville. When Jen contacted the photographer to obtain permission to use the photograph, she was informed that this photo was shot with an infrared lens -- so in actuality, those trees are green! Please take a moment to check out Chris Summerville’s other work. Truly breathtaking. Thank you Mr. Summerville for the permission to use such a striking piece of photography.

Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge Oblong Frame #3 5.25" x 5.75"
I chose to use the Oblong Frame and that way I could use the cut out middle for another
project.

printed digi Mail Girl on white cardstock
won from Die Cuttin Divas Birthday Hop from Jennipher Lowery

lt pink - flesh color for face

Johnson's safety swabs specially shaped for children - they have the pointed tips

I'm excited & proud to have been named one of two Chalkboard Winners for the Chalk-Ah-Lot Cafe Challenge: Anything Goes With Chalk!
Congrats to Bling in Brown who was also selected, and to Heartfelt Thanks who won the challenge!

  3. What a cute little image. I think you did great. I use the Qtip type things that have a pointed tip...you might find them in the make up section. Or there are also makeup applicators that have pointed tips that are spongy and can be washed (which I NEVER DO...I just throw them away and use a new one!)

  6. Was not sure about my cutting since I had no Spellbinders oval cuts that were the size of the image once I printed it at 4 " x 6" size. Some of the colors do not show up in the photo as well as when seen in person such as the pink/flesh color on face & the liquid Pearls on the faux fur. The sparkle of the snowflakes with glitter are not as noticeable in the photo.
