always & forever Anniv Card w/ unusual way it opens

Created this Anniversary Card for my hubby. We are celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary today, 11/19/2013.

Chose to use metal since my hubby is quite the handyman/toolman.

The card opens in an unusual way which may be considered the wrong way for a card to open but the words I calligraphy wrote inside tell the story as to why the card opens this way. I wrote: "No matter what direction our life takes, you are always there for me."

Hubby has been remodeling our daughter's bathroom that we had a catastrophe happen where the air conditioner above my daughter's bathroom collapsed the ceiling due to the water pan overflowing.  The room next to the bathroom, not the daughter's bedroom, but my hubby's computer room was also damaged. This all happened in Jul this yr. We did the initial cleanup before the insurance sent out the restoration people the next day after it happened. The restoration people tore up the damaged floor in bathroom & partial carpet of adjacent room. 4 fans & dehumidifiers and 1 wk later the wet of the water was gone. The restoration people repaired the drywall. We also had them remove the bathroom vanities, countertops and mirror since we decided to remodel.

We had Home Depot install the floor with white & black mosaic. We bought new vanities. Put money down on granite to be used for the sinks & countertops. When we phoned the granite place we found out they had sold our granite to someone else. Of course we asked why and they did not have a good reason. We asked for our down money back to find out they would have to get approval. Well, we were not happy and after 1 day they phoned us back & told us they would credit our credit card back which they did but then we were having to go look for new granite. Found sink/countertop granite at Home Depot. Had to order since they did not keep stock in store. Was told it would arrive in 1 wk. Then we were phoned that it would be 2-3 wks. Well, daughter is coming home for Thanksgiving so we were worried. The order came in after 2 wks. Hubby painted the vanities black. Hubby installed the granite and caulked & sealed it along with the backsplash & sidesplash. Hubby installed the faucet. Hubby also took down all the brown wood wainscotting. Hubby bought new wainscotting, chair rail (that is what the piece is called above the wainscotting), basboard material and painted & installed. You can see below a photo of bathroom with still some work to go.

We celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary early this past Sat 11/16/13 at SER Steak & Spirits restaurant which is on the 27th floor of the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX. I had won a $125 gift certificate to the restaurant from local radio station KLUV 98.7. Had won a $250 gift certificate to same place last yr and we took our daughter for her 21st birthday when she was home for Christmas/Winter break. For Anniv they reserved us a table near the window with a wonderful view of Downtown Dallas lights.

Below is a reflection photo:
