Sun dream Home Decor

Made this Sun dream Home decoration using a die I bought & rcvd recently from Simon Says Stamp (SSS). Hand stitched the pieces together. Before closing the Sun up I stuffed cotton from cotton balls inside.

Did not use the Happy Face parts to the Sun so that I could enter a new to me blog challenge, Anything But Cute Ch13 Celebrate Your Style, that is for mixed media creations.

Used a Die-Namics cloud die & sky scrapbook paper for the clouds.

Did some distressing using Tim Holtz tools: sander & paper distresser. Inked edges.

Used stamp & stencil that I got some time ago from SSS.

  2. Hi Melissa, welcome to mixed media and to Anything But Cute! It's always so wonderful to see a fresh 'face'. Absolutely your inked edges count, and you used a stencil, so there was some wet media there of some kind. I love your sun, it's so bright and cheery!! Thank you so much for joining us for our birthday celebration this month at Anything But Cute, I sure hope to see you again! hugs Pamellia DT :)

  7. I have that Tim Holz sander and never thought to use it to distress the edges of my paper! I just used scissors. Now I want to try using that sander!!!! Oh well, your card is very cute. The distressing looks great. Thank you for sharing with us at DRS Designs.
