Umbrella I'm Here for You Rain or Shine Card

My Sizzix BIGkick bit the dust. The handle broke off. Since I have a Tim Holtz Vagabond I went looking for the adaptor shim for thin dies like framelits that goes on top of the base that allows you to cut thin dies. Michaels, JoAnns & Hobby Lobby did not have. Considered buying a new Sizzix BIGkick at Michaels with 50% off coupon. Then I remembered seeing the words 'for framelits" on my Sizzix magnetic plate. Turns out the Sizzix magnetic plate is the proper thickness of the base + the adaptor shim. Came home and tried it out and the magnetic plate indeed cuts the thin dies. It cuts them like butter. Yeah!

Created this Umbrella Card using a sketch that you can see below which I flipped horizontally.

Used TH Vagabond to cut the Die-namics clouds. Placed the clouds on the yellow/orange layer.

Used MISTI to stamp the raindrops moving the paper 1/2" inch for each raindrop stamping. Used MISTI tool to stamp the sentiment on the top bigger cloud.

Used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle dies to cut the blue vellum.

Used TH Vagabond to cut the Die-namics Umbrella from both recycled cereal cardboard for sturdiness and scrapbook paper that I thought had a rainy look with the white stripes in the colors. I added Glossy accents for more of a rainy look.

Popped up the umbrella at an angle on the blue vellum circles.

  3. Lucky you had a back-up! I almost freaked when I thought my Cuddlebug was broken. Brian saw how upset I was and bought me a new one so I would have a back-up. No worries now! I love your little rain scene! Your colourful umbrella looks amazing and I like how you stamped the raindrops! Great sentiment too!
