fluttering by to say hi Kite Felt Card

Created this 'fluttering by to say hi' card using
Create a Critter Cricut cartridge Kite image and
used felt for the kite. Hubby holding card up to
the nice blue afternoon sky after it rained for past
2 days here in Central TX.

Used several layers of cardstock & patterned
paper.

Cut the Kite & layer out of cardstock and handcut
the felt to be shape of layer. Figured the red cardstock
would keep the yellow base of Kite from showing thru
the felt. I could have cut the felt with Cricut but did not
want to bother with having to get the blade setting
correct and it was easy to handcut with my Tim Holtz
scissors which I also used to handcut the bow images
on the string/twine part.

Stamped the sentiment with word 'fluttering' since
Kites flutter by in the sky.

  5. Nice idea to use felt...I like using felt, too. I've cut some with my Cricut but you have to make sure you have a good backing on it...I think if you have die it does better running it through a die cut machine.

    1. The paper has the Cloud design on it. I only have a couple more pieces of it and I think it has been discontinued. I have a different cloud patterned paper. Recently bought a cloud stamp so perhaps I'll give it a try to make some of my own. I also saw the other day that someone had cut cloud images, inked the white paper blue and then removed the images and it leaves white where the cloud images were.
