Congrats M Samuelson.

I'm going to have a Halloween Challenge with a prize giveaway.

Some of you may know I like carved pumpkins; especially Pirate themed of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. You can see some of the pumpkins my hubby has carved on my blog right sidebar. This yr my hubby is carving a new pumpkin but it is not a JD as CJS pumpkin and I'm keeping it a surprise until he is finished.

The Black Pearl pumpkin carved using a black styrofoam pumpkin was last yr 2014 pumpkin. Hubby carved using shaving technique where you leave part of the pumpkin intact and not cut through entirely.

The Challenge is to create a carved pumpkin creation to use on a paper creation. Paper creation can be a card, scrapbook layout, tag, 3D, etc. Bonus of extra entry if your carved pumpkin is a Pirate theme. Please specify where the pumpkin carving is from (i.e. stamp brand/name, die cut brand/name, etc.)

You must be a follower of my blog. 1 entry per person. No backlinking.

Starts Sat 9/19 which is International Talk Like a Pirate Day) and ends Sat 10/3.

Winner will be chosen & posted on my birthday, Oct. 5.

Winner prize is a Tim Holtz Shatter layering stencil. The stencil is new/unused. I bought a pkg of stencils at Michaels that have 2 stencils in a pkg. I did not have the Halloween stencil & had the Shatter stencil so figured I could make the extra a prize giveaway.

To enter you need to make a comment on this blog post and provide link to your entry on your blog.

Have fun. Please let others know.

  1. Sounds like fun! So to be clear, you're looking for some type of carved pumpkin, like a jack-o-lantern? I don't have a pirate-themed carved pumpkin stamp so I'll have to go with the basic, run-of-the-mill jack-o-lantern. I hope to be back to play along after searching through my stash! Thanks for the fun challenge! I like the stencil prize! Your hubby is very talented with the pumpkin carving! Amazing! Looking forward to seeing what he's carving this year!

    1. Yes, some type of carved pumpkin. A jack-o-lantern is indeed a carved pumpkin example. If you do not have a pirate-themed carved pumpkin then you could stamp a pumpkin and use scissors to cut something pirate from the pumpkin.

  3. Hi Melissa! Sounds fun and I know that I have at least one Jack O Lantern stamped image that I haven't even used so this will be a great challenge for me. I wasn't quite sure of the rules either, but after reading KT Fit Kitty's question and your answer, I'm game! My son in law always does a couple of fancy carved pumpkins for Halloween but I always stuck to the very basic!!
