Down on the Farm Scrapbook Layout

Created this Down on the Farm scrapbook layout using farm photos (Donkey, 3 Horned Sheep & Alpaca) from a friend's farm. The baby Donkey is a sweet animal. Had not seen a 3 Horned Sheep before. The blue eyes of the Alpaca were mesmerizing. Used blue jean fabric from an old pr of hubby's blue jeans to embellish the scrapbook layout

Happy Mother's Day Gazebo Artwork

Happy Mother's Day to everyone!

My wonderful Daughter created this Gazebo for me for Mother's Day. She finished her sophomore yr of college studying Art Animation. Hard to believe she is going to be a junior in college in the Fall. She will be coming home next weekend so we will celebrate Mother's Day when she is home.

I made a scrapbook layout using the Gazebo artwork. Used Art Nouveau Cricut cartridge for the Pansies die cuts. Used a photo of Pansies in the scrapbook layout that I photographed at the Dallas Arboretum. Photographed the scrapbbok layout in my backyard with my purple Petunias.

Happy Boat Day Birthday Card for a Male

Created this Happy Boat Day Birthday Card using the same brass embossing template I used for the Palm Tree ATC. Colored the Palm Trees & scenery using Quick Quotes Chalking Ink. Distressed the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Edger. Inked the edges with Tim Holtz ink. Used Baby Steps Cricut cartridge for Boat image to stamp "Happy Boat Day" sentiment on. Added some ribbon & a boat wheel brad. Card can be used for adult male. Decided to have the flag on the boat that I stamped the sentiment be on face to the right like it cuts instead of flipping it to point to the left even though the flags on the boats on the ribbons point to the left.

Tropical Palm Tree ATC

Created this Tropical Palm Tree Artist Trading Card (ATC) using the first way I learned to emboss which is to use a brass embossing template, embossing stylus & light box. My light box is a round light box Merry Glo Round. I had a Fiskars one and it got hot when plugged in while embossing. The Merry Glo Round does not get hot & you can rotate the glass. For those they do not know an ATC is a 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of artwork that is sometimes traded.

The Palm Tree embossed vellum is attached to the bottom of the ATC only and not elsewhere in order to give a 3D look of it over the Palm Tree scrapbook paper.

Hot Air Balloon Mother's Day Card

Created this Hot Air Balloon Mother's Day Card using a Ho Air Balloon rubber stamp, the negative image of the Hot Air Balloon from Everyday Pop Up Cards Cricut cartridge and Banner from Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge.

Stamped the Hot Air Balloon onto white cardstock. Cut the Hot Air Balloon out of the Cloud scrapbook paper from Everyday Pop Up Cards Cricut cartridge and used the negative image to attach the stamped image to the back of. Trimmed the negative image to show a bit more of the stamped image. Used glitter to add sparkle to the Hot Air Balloon flowers in the basket. Used Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge for the Banner. Used couple layers of blue cardstock. Added some gems to bling up the  Banner.

Yo, Ho, Ho Here's to You Shakin' a Leg Soon Captain Jack Sparrow Card

Created this Clean & Simple (CAS) Get Well Card without using the Get Well words using my fav Johnny Depp character, Captain Jack Sparrow. Used a photo of an artificial Styrofoam pumpkin hubby had carved in 2006. 

Most of you know I'm a big fan of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow and I also like all the movies Johnny Depp has done with Tim Burton. I'm looking forward to seeing he new Dark Shadows movie in which Johnny Depp plays Barnabas Colins. Heard on the radio that Johnny Depp is going to tour with Aerosmith. Johnny Depp plays guitar. I'm hoping that the tour comes here to where I can go see it.


Used a white light inside the pumpkin to get the white glow instead of a yellow glow.

Ice Cream Cone Shaped Birthday card

Created this Ice Cream Cone Shaped Birthday Card using Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge & self-adhesive pink foam craft. Used my Gypsy to weld the ice cream cone shaped card. This is first time for cutting the Doodlecharms ice cream cone. Think this is my first time cutting foam craft on my Cricut.

Had the foam craft for quite some time from a Valentine pkg. One of my fav ice cream is strawberry; thus reason for pink foam craft.

Used Cricut settings: blade 6, pressure max, speed 3. After the foam craft was cut I used my Tim Holtz scissors to snip a cut from the edge of the foam craft to to the tip of the ice cream cut image and was able to release the foam craft image ice cream scoop.

To give 3D texture I used 3 embossing folders: the Paper Studio Mesh Texture on the ice cream cone, D'Vine Swirl on the pink foam craft scoop of ice cream & Swiss Dots on the cherry.

For the sentiment I used red cardstock to be a cherry, a Fiskars circle punch and Joy's Life Yummy Pun clear stamp.

CAS got cake? Birthday Card

Created this Clean & Simple (CAS) got cake? Birthday Card using an embossing folder, clear stamps, glitter & liquid Pearls. The card can be for a man or woman.

Used mostly brown shades for colors. The card base is core'dinations Iced Cocoa cardstock. Photographed it looks off-white or gray but it is a shiny light brown. Used an embossing folder I got on clearance for $2.99 at Hobby Lobby. Stamped cake image & 'got cake?' sentiment. Used glitter & liquid Pearls on the cake & candle. Stamped a sentiment on inside of card also.

Teacher Thank You Apple Book Card

Created this Teacher Thank You Card using 2 different Cricut cartridges & some scraps of paper. The book image is from the Cricut This & That Creative Memories cartridge I won from Everyday Cricut last wk. The apple image is from Cricut Locker Talk cartridge which I have not used in quite some time. The apple patterned & school bus patterned scrapbook papers are from the Paper Studio.

I updated my Gypsy which I had not done sine Fall of last yr when it was replaced. This took 1 hr+. Updated my Cricut which took just shy of 1 hr.

Used Frosted Design sketch to make the square card.





Embossed the center square with Cuttlebug Typeset embossing folder.

Mouse House Mother's Day Card

Created this Mother's Day Card using a digi, Mouse House, I won from Stitchy Bear. Used Create a Critter Cricut cartridge for the Mushroom image.

I thought outside the box as in 'Mushroom' for my frame by using the negative Mushroom which I trimmed some as frame for the digi Mouse House.

Colored the digi Mouse House using Crayola pencil colors and added some glitter. Used foam adhesive to place the digi Mouse House behind the Mushroom frame to give it a popped 3D look. Stamped the BasicGrey flowers on Kraft green cardstock (from 'Greens' pkg bought from Hobby Lobby), scissor cutted the petals & used foam adhesive for 3D look. Stamped the Mother's Day sentiment. Added some buttons & ribbon.


Tried the flower stamping on several different types & color of cardstock but the Kraft green won out and when the petals were scissor cut the green looks like leaves or grass.

I did not imagine that I could enter this in 30+ challenges.
