Stampin Up News & SU Love Card

Attended an SU Mini Convention Sat 8/4 here in Plano, TX.
There were demonstrations and Make & Takes. This card here is one of the 5 Make & Takes I created at the Mini Conv.

On Very Vanilla cardstock layer stamped:
the sun rays image using Daffodil Delight ink
the wings with Primrose Petals ink
LOVE with Primrose Petals ink
image in top left corner with Midnight Muse

On separate small piece of Very Vanilla cardstock stamped:
red floral image with Primrose Petals ink
pennant with Early Espresso ink 

Cut out the center of the red floral image with small punch and attach it to the center of the image in top left corner on Very Vanilla cardstock layer.

Cut out the pennant and attach to top right corner on Very Vanilla cardstock layer.

Use scallop edge punch using Early Espresso cardstock. Attach scallop edge punch to bottom of Very Vanilla cardstock layer.

Attach the Very Vanilla layer to the Primrose Petals cardstock base front of card.

Trim the Tree Christmas Card

Created this Trim the Tree Christmas Card using Spellbinders, green color scheme & metal for the tree ornaments. Used my makingmemories punch to make the holes to put the gold round mini brads thru.

S'more BBQ and Camping Friend Card

Created this S'more BBQ and Camping Friend Card using Block Party Cricut Lite cartridge.

Cut the Marshmallow image at 3". Used Kraft cardstock, core'dinations Bright Green Smooth Texture cardstock, Nana's Kitchen matstack and DCWV camping words scrapbook paper. Used Spellbinders for sentiment tag. Stamped sentiment from Joy's Life Yummy Puns. Used pencil color on marsmallow. Added some enamel accents, liquid pearls & twine.

Treasure Map Birthday Card

Created this Treasure Map Birthday Card using a stamp I had selected from a win at Victorine Stamps and using for first time, a muse studio sentiment stamp, Quick Quotes chalk, Kraft cardstock, homemade embellishment (homemade twine), Bakers twine, O'ahu map & Tim Holtz Paper Distresser.

Chose O'ahu map because when we were in O'ahu March this yr for a beach wedding we took a bus tour of the island and got to see the area where the Mermaid scene of Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed.

Stamped the Treasure Map on Kraft cardstock using sketch (MFP Sketch with A Twist, Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Colored the Treasure Map and areas of Kraft cardstock with Quick Quotes powder puff chalk. Stamped sentiment "Happy Birthday" from a muse studio. Homemade some twine using string from Levi's Jeans and Quick Quotes powder puff chalk. Tied bow with Baker's twine. Printed O'ahu map from Internet. Distress the edges of the Treasure Map & O'ahu map with Tim Holtz Paper Distresser. Used pop dots on the homemade twine & Bakers twine to hold it all in place.

Oriental Beauty Happy Birthday Card

Created this Happy Birthday Card using a digi, Oriental Beauty, from Stitchy Bear (SBDS), sketch from Mark's Finest Papers (MFP) Sketch with A Twist, embossing folders, Spellbinders, Japanese writing of sentiment (Happy Birthday - casual style) & colors Black/White, splash of Red and used Kraft cardstock as base.

Have been challenging myself all week so far to use a sketch as my card inspiration.

My daughter took a Japanese Art History class last semester and helped me with this card.

Printed Oriental Beauty digi on white cardstock & cut with Spellbinder die. Embossed red cardstock for front & inside of card. Printed Japanese "Happy Birthday" on my computer on white cardstock. Cut banner/tag for sentiment with Spellbinder die. Added ribbon & bow.

Triple Ice Cream Cone Friend Card

Created this Triple Ice Cream Cone Friend Card using Neopolitan Ice Cream Colors (Chocolate, Strawberry & Vanilla), Paper Take Weekly sketch (see sketch below), Kraft cardstock, Nana's Kitchen matstack, Nana's Nursery Baby Girl matstack, triple sentiment (Fiskars stamps & Whimsical Designs stamps), embossed powder, bling, buttons, fabric (I won this trim from Charlotte of A little bit of detail site) and a little bit of this & that. 

I worked on this for quite awhile and started over a couple times with color choices.

Paper pieced the ice cream cones after stamping on Kraft cardstock & colored cardstock.Used Spellbinders for a mat behind the stamped ice cream cones. Added bling (to resemble ice cream drips), buttons (for the Neopolitan ice cream flavors), fabric (that somewhat resembles ice cream drips) & glitter (ice cream drips).

Created the triple sentiment using 2 different stamp stamps.

Lighthouse Card MFP Simple Salutation Ch#5 Bldg

Today is my start of 2nd month being part of Mark's Finest Papers team hosting the Simple Salutations challenge. This week Challenge #5 is Buildings.

Again,  I challenged myself to create a card using a sketch and on a new technique which is to mask part of a stamp.

Sketch is from House That Stamps Built (see below). Used MFP Lighthouses stamp and masked off the trees. First time for me masking off part of a stamp. Used a small piece of cardstock held over the part that I did not want stamped on card; thus masking it off.

Used Kraft cardstock as base. Used Paper Pizazz scrapbook paper that had a Lighthouse image on it. Scanned the scrapbook paper onto americana off-white Kraft cardstock for two 5" x7" pieces (one to be used on front of card & 1 to be used on inside of card). Trimmed the americana off-white Kraft cardstock with scanned image. Stamped the MFP lighthouse. Added Spellbinder pennants. Stamped "Happy Birthday" sentiment on one of the pennants. Punched/embossed the Martha Stewart (MS) Sand Dollars. Added the Sand Dollars to front of card. Added a 2nd piece of americana off-white Kraft cardstock with scanned lighthouse image to inside of card. Added the Starfish that are punched out of center of MS Sand Dollars to inside of card.
