In The Harbor Father's Day Card

Created this Father's Day Card using a digi, In the Harbor, I won from Stitchy Bear by entering a challenge at One Stitch At A Time.

Did not set out to have 35+ challenges to enter this in but it is what it is and I think it came together nicely with not  too much or too less in any way shape or form.

Daughter helped me choose the color scheme & sailor boat layout which has a Summer vacation look to it also. She is great for that sort of thing as well as her artwork.

I first printed the digi onto Kraft cardstock (brown color). The first time I had used Kraft cardstock to print on with my printer. The cardstock went into printer & came out without no printing on it for 1st attempt. The Kraft cardstock is thicker than ordinary printer paper so I adjusted the margin thingies that hold the paper in place in the printer feeder tray. 2nd attempt printed just fine.

Cut the digi out of the Kraft cardstock. Embossed the cut out digi image using Tim Holtz Woodgrain embossing folder for wood texture look. Used Tim Holtz Distress Ink walnut stain on the edges of the cut out digi image.

Printed the digi on gray cardstock. Used Blog Quick Quotes Powder Puff chalk. Used Blue Hawaiian for the sky. Used Blue Hawaiian & Tahiti on water. Used Green with Envy for greenery/moss.

Used Spellbinders die cut for gray & red layers. Used Tim Holtz Distress Ink walnut stain on edges of red layer. Put the cut out Kraft cardstock digi on top of the gray using foam adhesive to give 3D look. Arranged the pieces on the Base. Before using adhesive on layers I put raffia in place. Used adhesive on pieces. Used foam adhesive for gray layer on red layer.

Used Life is a Beach Cricut cartridge to print the Seagull. Stamped sentiment 'You float my boat' on the Seagull. Used Tim Holtz Distress Ink black soot on edges of Seagull.

Stamped a piece of Kraft cardstock with Father's Day '#1 Dad' sentiment, used corner rounder & attached it to the chipboard tag.

For inside I used a piece of Kraft cardstock to hide the raffia and a piece of Tim Holtz core'dinations blue china cardstock. Embossed the blue china cardstock with Tim Holtz Rays embossing folder. Attached a Seagull to inside on blue china cardstock. Pushed up the wings on Seagull for 3D look.
